Why Session?
The journey from a sketch to construction is filled with important decisions. ‘Session’ is a collaborative design process created by Nick to help clients gain clarity and find the ideal outcome for their project.

Over three to four meetings, Nick works closely with you to test ideas through sketch options, diagrams, site analysis and 3D modelling. Together, you'll explore different possibilities and develop a concept that responds to your needs, your site and the way you want to live or work.

A strong concept provides a clear foundation for the project, giving you confidence in the decisions that follow. Once the design direction is in place, Nick can guide you through the remaining project stages, all the way through to construction and completion.

Testimonials
“Last night was our first in our newly renovated home, the transformation is wonderful, and we are so grateful for your design skills. By the way, the kitchen is a delight, the timber flooring is beautiful, and the bathroom is a wonderful jewel.

We would recommend Nick to anyone who is looking for an informed and collaborative Architect to create an outcome which brings them joy.”

- Anne + Tony, Villa Kay

“Before meeting with Nick, we knew what we were trying to achieve, but not necessarily how we were going to do it. Nick listened to our somewhat jumbled ideas, and expertly unpacked them to create a design that really considered how we needed to use the spaces we had, whilst provided us with the aesthetic we wanted.

Nick provided us with an incredible amount of design concepts, and we were able to work with him in real time to amalgamate and finesse these designs, to achieve the outcome we were looking for.”

- Nicki + Ben, Vances Crossing

“It feels like one home, even though there are two buildings. They’re linked through the colours, the perforated screens and the garden. From nearly every room in the house, I can see the studio. It has a beautiful aesthetic and it blends with the landscape.”

- Karen, Echidna Studio

“Nick designed our renovation in 2020. We set the challenge of finding more space in our townhouse to suit our family.

The design process was a collaborative effort, and Nick took the time to listen to our ideas and preferences while also offering his expert insight and suggestions, and then developing sketches and renders to communicate the design process.

We love the result, a new study has emerged from unused garage space, new bi-fold doors open the lounge to the courtyard and fill the space with light, and the detailed joinery provides an arrangement to both conceal and display our trinkets.”

- Justine + Sam, Bishop
